Why does TSC Mission Support Exist?
What is TSC Mission Support?
Tri-State Circuits Mission Support serves under the umbrella of the Pacific Southwest District of the LCMS. We work at the circuit level to support mission and ministry efforts of Circuits 29/30 which include congregations in Nevada, Arizona, and California.
Tri-State Circuits Mission Support is managed by a Board of Trustees composed of members of congregations in circuits 29 & 30.
Why does TSC Mission Support exist?
The Board of Trustees of Tri-State Mission Support are driven by the Great Commission and believe that it is the privilege and duty of every Christian to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is simply to expand God's Kingdom in our circuits' tri-state area.
TSC Mission Support works behind the scenes to help encourage ministries in our circuits which bring the gospel message to those who do not know Jesus Christ as their savior. We believe that we can more effectively proclaim Christ to our communities through combined circuit resources to support combined circuit ministry. Additionally, as circuit congregations work together to share the gospel, the world sees us as one unified body of Christ. The result of our unity, says Jesus, is that the world will know and believe (see John 17:20-23). That's what TSC Mission support is about. We want to unify our circuit resources of people, prayer, and funding to tell our neighbors about Jesus.
How does TSC Mission Support work?
Tri-State Circuits Mission Support works with the circuit congregations through the circuit pastors. TSC Mission Support is funded by contributing congregations within our circuits. TSC Mission Support does not accept contributions from individuals. We encourage individuals interested in financially supporting missions to give to their home congregation and encourage their congregation to support TSC Mission Support through the congregational annual budget. Money received from contributing circuit congregations is used to directly fund initiatives through TSC Mission Support grants.
What missions are funded by TSC Mission Support?
Mission / ministry initiatives come from the circuit congregational members and church workers. TSC Mission Support brings resources from many congregations for projects which may be difficult for one congregation to take on themselves. Evaluation of ministry initiatives is completed by the TSC Mission Support Board of Trustees and includes (1) Review of grant application (2) Circuit pastoral approval. Grant applications are open all year long and are evaluated for funding quarterly by the Board of Trustees in February, May, August, and November.
